Front page

Asuntojen hintatiedot is a data search service for private individuals offered by The Ministry of the Environment. The service provides information on prices and quality of individual home sales in Finland.

You can search for home sales data by using the search function on the front page of the service. As a mandatory search criterion, you are required to select a city/municipality or zip code. To select a city, enter its first letters in the "City or municipality" field and select the desired city from the menu. To search by zip code, enter the entire zip code in the "Zip code" field.

Once you have selected a city, you can refine your search by adding a zip code or a district1. You can view the list of zip codes or districts by clicking on the empty field below the "Zip code" or "District" buttons. To make your selection, tick the desired zip codes or districts on the list. If you already know the zip code or district, you can enter its beginning in the "Refine" field that will show you a list of options with the same numbers/letters. Selections are made easier with the Select all and Unselect functions.

You can narrow the search further by choosing the type of building, number of rooms and living area. You can choose one or more options for the type of building and the number of rooms. The number of rooms does not include the kitchen.

Once you have set the desired search criteria, click the "Search" button to start the search

Search results page

The search results will show you a list of home sales completed during the previous year that match your search criteria. The home sales data is listed in order of completion, with the most recent sales appearing first. The sales data is updated once a month.

The search results can only be viewed when there are three or more sales that meet the search criteria. If the number of matches is below the minimum, no search result will be shown. For detached houses, at least three district-specific sales are also required for the district information to appear.

You can increase the number of search results by increasing or reducing the selected search criteria. If there are more than 50 home sales matching your search criteria, you can view more results by clicking on the "Next" button visible in the upper and lower right of the list. This will show you the next 50 search results.

You can also sort sales by their properties by clicking the triangle in the desired property. You can return the results back to their original order by using the link at the top of the page.

The selected search criteria is displayed above the results list. You can print list pages by clicking the printer button above the table.

In the search results, you can view the following information of an individual home sale:

The search will show the selected area of the map (municipality or zip code) and display the selected information in a pop-up window. By clicking on other areas on the map you can view their average prices without additional search.

Areas displayed on the map (municipality or zip code) are classified in 11 price ranges and coloured on the basis of the corresponding price per square meter. The price data is missing for the light areas on the map

1 The district information displayed on the service comes from real estate agents and may differ from the official division of areas defined by the cities. Some corrections to the districts have been made by the service provider in case of incorrect spelling (e.g. uppercase and lowercase letters, hyphens) or when a certain district has multiple names (e.g. merged municipalities).
