Accessibility statement
Accessibility of this online service
The Ministry of the Environment aims to ensure the accessibility of its online services as required by the Act on the Provision of Digital Services. We want to provide digital services that are accessible to as many people as possible.
This accessibility statement applies to the service Asuntojen hintatiedot. This statement has been published 22.9.2020.
We are working to improve accessibility
The Ministry of the Environment itself has assessed the accessibility of the service. We will remedy any shortcomings in the accessibility of the service as soon as possible when the necessary resources become available. We also take accessibility into account when developing the service.
How accessible is the service?
This service does not fulfill all the critical accessibility requirements. The deficiencies of the service are described in more detail in the following section.
Content and activities that are inaccessible:
-
Some images of the service do not have a sufficiently descriptive text equivalent.
(WCAG 1.1.1 ) -
Some of the elements have too low contrast in comparison to their background.
Content that can be difficult to interpret: some of the heading lines in tables and diagrams; some of the bars in the diagrams and the Search button. Also, there is a text FAQ image with a rather light colour. (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.5, 1.4.11) -
The structure at the bottom of the page uses a table for content layout and in the Help page for text layout.
(WCAG 1.3.1) -
The website structure does not identify content areas that would enable the bypassing of different content elements using assistive technologies.
(WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.1) -
The form fields of the search operation either lack labels or are programmatically unconnected. Related checkboxes or buttons are programmatically unconnected.
(WCAG 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 3.3.2) -
On the Frequently Asked Questions page, the page jumps over one heading level.
(WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6) -
Headings may be missing in search results tables.
(WCAG 1.3.1) -
Using certain form fields of the search function with a screen reader or keyboard is challenging and in some cases impossible
For example, using a postal code, an area or a district may pose problems. (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.4.3, 4.1.2) -
The website makes use of one-character hotkeys (Character Key Shortcuts).
(WCAG 2.1.4) -
There is no programmatically readable heading in the page that contains the search function for rental housing.
(WCAG 2.4.2) -
Not all links have clearly identifiable purposes, and the website contains empty links.
(WCAG 2.4.4) -
The website's markup language has errors that may affect content availability.
(WCAG 4.1.1)
Other observations on the usability of the service
When the Table option of the search functions of the service is used to list results, search results are listed in a multicolumn table. Scrolling through table data on mobile devices requires scrolling in two directions. This may make it difficult to browse data on very small display devices. If you want to view search results in a tabular format, we recommend that you use a device that has a large enough screen size to display a large data table.
