The service doesn’t contain information on all home sales because

• Material is provided only by the brokers covered by the agreement of Ministry of the Environment and KVKL, all of which are listed on the front page of the service. In addition, the service does not contain information on the home sales that are completed by companies and private individuals without the help of brokers.
• In order for the search results to be shown on the service, there must be at least 3 home sales that match your search criteria.
• The buyer and/or seller has the right to prohibit the publication of their home sale on the service.

The most recent sales information on the service is 1-2 months old. For instance, sales made in January appear on the service in late February.

Home sales data remains in the service for 12 months after its publication.

Sales data is kept in the service only for 12 months so that the price level would be as up-to-date as possible. The most recent sales are displayed at the top. The service does not contain archives of sales older than one year. You can find time series on average prices for blocks of flats and terraced houses by the municipality, number of rooms and zip code on Statistics Finland's Statfin databases.

A minimum number of three apartments is set to ensure that individual apartments are not easily identifiable. For the same reason, address information is also left out. This policy has been agreed with the Data Protection Ombudsman.

The purpose of the service is to provide additional information on factors affecting the price level of dwellings. As the sales data included in the service may not be a sufficiently representative sample of all the home sales completed in the area, publishing an average price could be misleading. Official data on the average prices of old apartments in blocks of flats and terraced houses can be found in Statistics Finland's Statfin databases, also sorted by the zip code.

Only completed home sales will appear on the service. The stated purchase prices are debt-free prices, so they include the apartment-specific share of housing company debt in addition to the sale price.

Presenting repairs and renovations comprehensively and reliably would require significantly more space than is currently available on the service.

In the City or municipality menu, it is only possible to select the cities from which there is sales price data available. Similarly, the District menu only displays the districts with completed sales. If less than three sales were completed in a certain district, the district does not appear in the sales information, but you can view other details of the home sale under the selected city or zip code.

The same data is used by real estate agents in their price monitoring service. The data is delivered monthly in bulk. However, it is not possible for Ministry of the Environment to verify the accuracy of information on individual sales. If we become aware of clearly inaccurate price data, we will remove that information from our service.

Brokers have asked for permission from buyers and sellers to publish their home sales information, but you can also request your home sales information to be removed from the service once it is published. You can request the removal of sales information from Ministry of the Environment through the feedback form of the service. Ministry of the Environment will ensure that the removal requester is the buyer or seller of the apartment.

The agreement between Ministry of the Environment and the Central Federation of Finnish Real Estate Agencies (KVKL) only allows the use of home sales data for this service and prohibits the disclosure of the data to a third party.
